Access Controls

There are times when it is necessary to restrict public access using a physical deterrent system to prevent unwelcome visitors. On such occasion, what required are access controls.

Swipe-Card Readers

  • Swipe card readers are widely used, and therefore familiar to many people
  • Swipe cards are inexpensive, and thus cost effective when many are issued
  • Readers are robust. Red and green LED indicators show whether a card has been accepted

Card Readers

  • Card Readers are inexpensive
  • The use of a stainless steel touch plate, rather than a swipe-slot, makes the reader easy to use and resistant to vandalism and the ingress of foreign bodies
  • Validating and voiding of cards, as well as other programming functions, are easily accomplished from outside of the unit using a few programming cards

Keypads

  • Use of 4, 5 or 6 digit PIN numbers to gain entry removes the need for entry cards or keys
  • Keypads are constructed to withstand hard use, abuse and weather
  • Code holders can be given access to certain entry points, but be barred from others
